Peace and Blessings!
I am Benu Xanamara Ma’at and welcome to my digital portfolio. I created this space as a way to provide a distillation of my work as an educator, community organizer and social science researcher. The work presented has been generated over the course of five years, starting with my work as a student and community organizer and founding president of ClassAction Student Group at CUNY’s Lehman College, to my joining the Universal Zulu Nation and the founding of Phoenix Queens of the Nation: Wisdom Born Zulu Chapter 29, to becoming an AmeriCorps VISTA and working with the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula.
I am currently conducting research on Hip-Hop Pedagogy: Community Education for Positive Child & Youth Development.
